FAQs

Absolutely not! I specialize in teaching people with “two left feet”! With ballroom dance, you go step by step and you do not need any previous experience to learn!

Do I need dance experience?

Who ever said you can’t have a little you time? ;) No partner is necessary for private lessons or for group classes. As your instructor, I can do both the lead and follow parts, so you only need yourself to dance! In group classes, we switch partners, so even if you don’t come with someone, you will have someone to dance with!

What are the benefits of ballroom dancing?

3

Ballroom dancing has a ton of benefits! Some of the top ones are:

  • Boosts physical health, including strength, flexibility and balance

  • Fosters social connections: making new friends or bonding with your significant other

  • Improves cognitive function and memory

That all depends on your mindset! While there are some challenging aspects to certain steps, everything is 100% learnable! I love working with beginners to show them what is possible when they try and when they believe in themselves. We break down each step and focus on repetition, so that you can feel like you are learning, without feeling overwhelmed.

Is ballroom dancing hard?

Should I take private lessons or group classes?

5

This is up to your personal learning style, goals and schedule! The ideal would be a mix of both, so that you get the personalization of a private lesson, with the social aspect of a group class – getting to try the moves with other people in the class. If your schedule is busy, you just want to learn as fast as possible, or you have aspirations to compete, go with the private lessons!
